| Driver's Side Compartment III | |
![]() |
The
rear-most compartment on the driver's side is home to a variety of firefighting
equipment. The top shelf holds salvage covers. These large, heavy-duty tarpaulins are used to cover and protect property from water damage during firefighting operations. The second shelf contains hose assembled into a "high-rise pack." This pack contains 200' of 1.75" diameter attack lines. It's assembled so that firefighters can carry it into large buildings that contain their own system of water pipes for firefighting. The bottom shelf holds a chain saw, tool box and a five-gallon bucket of absorbent used to soak up spilled or leaking fluids at the scene of motor vehicle accidents.
