Not
all fires require hose lines to be stretched for extinguishment. For this
reason, Engine 1 carries three different types of fire extinguishers in the
forward officer's side compartment -- a water extinguisher, an all-purpose
dry chemical extinguisher and a carbon dioxide extinguisher. This compartment also includes a pull-out tool board that carries a variety of hand tools.
