| Officer's Side Compartment III | |

The
third compartment on the officer's side contains Engine 1's specialized rescue
equipment. This compartment is equipped with a full compliment of ropes and riggings used for angle rescue. Engine 1 also carreis a full set of water rescue gear -- including life vests and helmets. Finally, a rapid intervention bag contains a variety of tools to be used if firefighters become trapped and must be rescued.
