GEORGE GLENN

Chief George Glenn was hired in 2000 as the City of Maumelle made a commitment to split the Department of Public Safety into separate police and fire departments. Glenn's fire service career spans more than three decades and has included service as a paid-per-call firefighter, paid-per-call captain and as a career chief at the shift, division and department-wide level.

Fire Marshal / Division Chief
      
In February 2006, John Payne became the first fire marshal of the independent fire department era. As such, he is responsible for enforcement of the fire code, fire cause investigations and training programs for both career and volunteer firefighters. Before joining the MFD, Chief Payne served as an instructor for the Arkansas Fire Academy.
