Administrative
Offices
The new station will serve as fire department headquarters and
house all of the department's administrative offices, including Chief of
the Department, Division Chief/Fire Marshal and Administrative Assistant.
Engine Bay
The apparatus bay will feature three drive-thru bays. Apparatus
will enter the station off of Union Court and exit onto Murphy Drive. Engine
1, Brush 1 and the Mobile Air Unit are scheduled to move to this station.
This will give the department a total of six bays at both stations in which
to store its growing fleet of equipment.
Living Quarters
The new station will utilize a pod system in the living quarters,
whereas each firefighter on duty will have an individual sleep room. This
design prevents the need for large bunkrooms divided by gender and will allow
company-specific alerting/dispatching to each room in the
future. |

Directions To
The Murphy Drive Station
From Interstate 40: Take Exit 142. Drive south on Arkansas
Hwy. 365 and turn onto Arkansas Hwy. 100 (Maumelle Boulevard) at first stop
light. Turn left at first stop light (onto Murphy Drive). Turn left onto
Union Court. The construction site will be on your left.
From Interstate 430: Take Exit 12. Drive west on Arkansas Hwy.
100 (Maumelle Boulevard). Turn right at the sixth stop light (onto Murphy
Drive). Turn left onto Union Court. The construction site will be on your
left. |
