above) tests one of the more than 400 fire hydrants located throughout Maumelle.
Career fire personnel test each hydrant annually to insure that it is operational
in the event of an emergency and that it flows an adequate amount of water
to support firefighting efforts. Additionally, firefighters mark hydrants
with blue reflective stripes to make it easier to locate.
