| Firefighters Scott Eaton and Shane
Holmes don the masks of their self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) in
preparation for entering the burn bunker. The SCBA units provide firefighters
with approximately 20-30 minutes of clean breathing air for use in hazardous
environments. |

the fire and extinguish it. Additional firefighters will operate a rescue
hose and be ready to act in case of an emergency during
training. |

glorious. Firefighter Josh Woods rolls

| Chief Glenn refreshes the firefighters
on the basics of nozzles used to fight fire. Maumelle firefighters carry
two types of nozzles -- smooth bore and fog. A fog nozzle creates a stream
of broken water droplets that convert to steam to extinguish fires. A smooth
bore nozzle provides a solid stream of water to allow for better
penetration. |

multiple nozzle tips to get first-hand knowledge of their
differences. |
