Engine 2:
October 2007 - June 28, 2010 / Engine 3: June 28, 2010 -
Present
Engine 3 is a
1996 Pierce Quantum pumper. This rig was purchased from the Travis County
Emergency Services District in Pflugerville, Texas in July 2007 and placed
in service as Maumelle's reserve pumper three months later. It replaced a
1994 E-One Hush pumper that had experienced a growing number of mechanical
concerns.
On November 8, 2008, this rig became the full-time apparatus of Engine Company
2. It served in that role until June 28, 2010, when it returned to its former
status as a reserve -- filling in for apparatus out of service or being staffed
on an incident-specific basis.
Engine 3 carries 1,000 gallons of water, two 1.75" pre-connected crosslay
hoselines, a 2.5" pre-connected hoseline as well as a supply of five-inch
supply hose. It has seating for six firefighters and ample compartment space
to store the rescue equipment currently carried on the two front-line
engines.
