Engine 2 is a
2010 Smeal custom pumper on Spartan Gladiator chassis. This engine is the
newest piece of equipment in the Maumelle Fire Department fleet and
went into service June 28, 2010. It replaced the 1996 Pierce Quantum
as the apparatus of Engine Company 2.
Engine 2 carries 500 gallons of water, three 1.75" pre-connected hoselines,
a 2.5" pre-connected hoseline as well as an 800' of five-inch supply hose.
In addition to the compliment of firefighting equipment, Engine 2 carries
a full set of TNT hydraulic rescue tools (commonly referred to as the Jaws
of Life) and a set of Rescue-Q-Jack struts used to stabilize vehicles involved
in collisions. Engine 2 also carries basic life support equipment for use
on emergency medical responses.
Engine 2's cab is equipped with seating for six, but minimum staffing
is 2 personnel -- a company officer and an engineer. |
